Learn to head-copy Morse code to fully enjoy CW

1. Letters & Numbers

A launch ramp for beginners! Learn Morse characters gently and gradually at speeds ranging from 15 to 30 wpm.

2. Common Words

These 2,000+ random words most common in the English language are combined with some ham radio vocabulary. Start with recognizing them as they are spelled out in English before switching to code.

3. Sentences

These come in two flavors: short and long. Once you can understand these at various code speeds, you'll be as good as most maritime operators of days past.

4. Hollywood Film Lines

Great lines such as "Do you expect me to talk? No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die," drawn from the American Film Institute's top 100 quotes will provide you with fun practice. They were selected specifically TO TEACH YOU NUMBERS in an entertaining way.

5. Q-Signals

These are great to know for DX pursuits. You will likely learn them eventually so why not get an early start? They are presented spoken as well as in Morse code.

6. Books & Novels

Here are over two dozen full-length books and novels that offer an opportunity to master code during your daily activities. Set the code speed to Varying to simulate the radio room of a rusty tramp steamer in the North Atlantic!

7. My Text

Enter your own personal text. Then decide which characters you want voiced in English and which ones are to be sent in Morse code. This is a great way to practice with material copied from real QSOs. Or perhaps you'd like to practice with your own list of call signs, short stories, or favorite poems. And you can even attach Morse messages to your emails!

8. Code Drill

This is a fully interactive code training and testing program based on a proprietary machine learning algorithm. It will test you mercilessly on everything you learned up to that point, remembering your errors... and stubbornly insisting that you learn your problem characters right then and there before adding new ones!
